Your website is the most significant facet of your business. Your website acts as a portal so customers can learn more about your company, inviting potential customers into your business. The more professional your website is, the more people will trust you in the long run. ‘First impression lasts’ and this, shall we say, applies to all including your website. Your website will determine its first impression for your visitors and it’s a factor whether they will choose you over your competitors.

With this in mind, it’s important to have a website that should represent who you are and what you do to turns visitors into paying customers. Trust is the key here. You have to make people trust your website before they trust you as a business, otherwise they’ll simply go elsewhere.

Now let’s start with these 5 basics to make sure people trust you and your website…

1. “About Us”/Company Profile

Everyone wants to know who’s behind the logo, so make sure you include an ‘About Us’ page to tell people about who you are and what you do. Often times, your ‘About Us’ page is the first page they will navigate to.  Use this section wisely to build trust and really talk about the background of the company, the products and services you offer, history and how long is the company in the business, everything that describes the company and how the company differs from other product and service providers. In this area, you should have indulged the customers on how good your company and the products and services you give them.

A website lacking the About Us page may seem less credible because as far as we know this page gives an identity to your site. Sharing your company’s information and its employees gives website visitor a sense of authenticity; which helps to build trust. Your “About Us” page can also include charities that your company sponsors, awards, events, and testimonials.

2. Company’s contact information

You wouldn’t want to lose a customer just because they cannot find the contact information easily for them to get in touch with you.

The point in this one is to simply give them all the necessary contact information of the company.  Your ‘Contact Us’ page should include your company’s physical address, telephone number, email address and social media contact details. It’s also a good idea to add your postal address, phone number and email if suitable to every page of your website such as in the footer.  This way you are showing your customers that your company is legitimate, and that they can contact your company with any questions or concerns that they might have in the future.

3. Products and services your company offers

This is where you list all your products and services. Potential customers visiting your website want to know what your company has to offer. This way, the customers will have a brief background and identify their need of these products and services.  If your company’s purpose is hidden, prospects will question your company’s credibility and navigate to competitor’s website that provides that information to them up front.

4. Customer testimonials

One of the most influential pages on your website is your customer testimonials page. Nothing beats word-of-mouth recommendation to add credibility and build trust on your website. Having customer testimonials section on your home page or in a separate section inform other visitors of your website that your business is not only legitimate, but has a good quality that other people are seeing great results from it.

 5. Blogging

A blog is an opportunity to build trust with potential clients. Blogs help people learn, based on the topics you published daily or weekly and it adds a voice to your business and will show people more about who you are. A lot of people really enjoys viewing insights from different people. Having unique and top-notch blog will draw attention to the readers. Include the facility for people to add comments so they can directly communicate with you and leave their ideas and suggestions. According to studies, blogs are the most popular pages that visitors/customers view to have an insight to something. Make sure to create interesting and write amazingly to produce great results.
